Summit Systems is celebrating having won a prestigious Plastics Industry Award for Supplier Partnership: Ancillary Equipment with their Polymer Training and Innovation Centre project.
The Plastics Industry Awards took place on Friday 27th October at Hilton on Park Lane. Launched in 2001 and held annually in London, the PIA Awards are dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market.
Formerly having won the prestigious award eight times, the winning streak was broken in 2014 with Summit narrowly missing out on the title.
The project was headed up by Technical Sales Engineer Steve Tranter and Project Manager Richard Dean. The project focused on providing the training centre with the best machinery possible to ensure all students have the best in-depth training experience while focusing on maximum efficiency and more economical equipment.
In the same category, Supplier Partnership: Ancillary Machinery, were an additional four nominations.
The award was presented by TV presenter Nick Knowles, in front of approx. 700 plastic industry professionals. Summit’s MD, Mike Jordan and Technical Sales Engineer Steve Tranter accepted the award, with judges commenting on an ‘impressive and industry encouraging’ entry.
MD Mike Jordan comments “We should all be very proud. It’s a team effort and this is a great sign for the next 12 months as we improve and develop our business.”
Summit Systems was established in 1989 and is now the market leader in the plastics ancillary sector, meeting customers’ needs for more efficient and less wasteful production.
Summit also announced their latest venture at Interplas this year, their new temperature control division: Summit Chilled which will be covered in the November/December issue of BP&R.
We’re extremely excited to return to the NEC for our tenth appearance at Interplas! Summit Systems has taken the opportunity to exhibit at every event since being founded in 1989, returning with a stronger, more dynamic presence each time.
Summit Systems’ strong portfolio and new makeover:
Market leaders Summit Systems supply the World’s most innovative ancillary technology. This means we can give you the edge over your competition by developing bespoke solutions that make your production faster, more efficient and considerably less wasteful.
Our 2017 stand will feature our range of top equipment from World class manufacturers, plus a few surprises to reveal our new makeover which we’ve been working hard on all year!
Managing Director Mike Jordan comments “Having spent over two and a half decades scouring the world for new technologies, we now have an incredibly strong portfolio for our clients to choose between and Interplas is the number one event to showcase these products.”
We have a couple of new faces within the Summit team who are extremely excited to experience their first Interplas, as well as our strong technical sales team who are looking forward to welcoming current and future customers to the stand.
Alongside our top equipment, our stand will feature a unique and private hospitality area where customers can meet with our technical sales team to discuss current or future business, whilst sipping on a nice strong coffee or of course, some bubbles!
In line with our ‘new look’, we’ll have some promotional gifts to help you through those icy winter months! Visit us in Hall 4, stand E30 from 26th – 28th September to find out more.
If you wish to book an appointment in advance with one of our technical sales engineers, please email email@example.com and we’ll happily arrange a suitable time for you.
We’ve been doing this for 28 years now, so pop by to see how our drying, dosing, blending and conveying machinery can help you. We look forward to seeing you in September!
Summit Systems has been crowned one of ‘The Best Companies to Work for in the Plastic Industry’. The award was presented at last week’s PDM exhibition in Telford during an exclusive prize giving lunch.
Summit Systems Managing Director, Mike Jordan says:
“This is a fantastic achievement for the Summit Systems team, who make our business such a great place to work. I am fortunate to be surrounded by such a positive culture which encourages performance and ensures our people enjoy coming to work.”
The best company to work for awards are organised by PRW and Best Companies Group. The programme is designed to recognise outstanding places of employment in UK Plastics. Entry comprises a survey completed by Summit Systems (worth 25% of marks) and one completed by a random sample of company employees (75% of marks), which are used to produce the industry ranking.
Mike Jordan continues:
“Most of the ranking is based on what our staff think about us which makes it so much more meaningful. We have a great team with many staff having been with us for a decade or more. It’s a real honour to work with such a dedicated group of people.”
In a week of highs, Mike Jordan was also personally recognised for his contribution to UK plastics by making the ‘PRW Most Influential People in Plastics’ list. The 70 strong list, unveiled at PDM, consists of individuals whom PRW readers and a panel of experts believe have had the most impact on the sector in the past 12 months.
Mike Jordan opened Summit Systems for business in 1989 to help manufacturers increase production and efficiency by providing plastics ancillary equipment, installations and aftersales services. Today it is sole distributor for many products in the UK providing clients with solutions that best matches their needs rather than being tied in to a particular brand or system.
Summit Systems was the first plastic ancillary supplier to provide 24/7 support, boasts the highest number of regionally based engineers and has the highest volume of stock available on a next day delivery. Most equipment is provided under warranty.
