Low pressure dryers
What will it do for you?
Our LPD (low pressure dryers) accelerate the polymer drying process by using a vacuum to lower the boiling point of water from 100 °C to 56 °C. The moisture is rapidly extracted from the heated material. Leaving it in a condition to be moulded or extruded.
Typically, these Low Pressure (Vacuum) Dryers will dry materials in one-sixth of the time required by a desiccant dryer.
Features
- The Dryer is fully automatic with fail safe alarm as standard
- Three material canisters internally mounted on a carousel which enables a continuous drying cycle
- The Dryer's ompact dimensions reduce footprint on the shop floor when compared to equivalent desiccant dryers
- Operator friendly Control Panel with thumbwheels for setting drying temperature and cycle time
- Mobile design with easy access for cleaning the dryer

Advantages
- Reduction in energy consumption of 70-80% when compared with other material drying methods
- Reduction in material drying times – typically a LPD will dry material in 1/6 of the time of a more traditional desiccant dryer
- Reduced maintenance costs when compared with a desiccant dryer. Since desiccant degrades over time it must be replaced on a regular basis. This expense is avoided with a vacuum dryer. In addition, the need to monitor the condition of the desiccant is eliminated.
- Elimination of downtime incurred through material changes as the LPD dries product in batches
- Long drying times at elevated temperatures can cause material degradation including discolouration. These dryers supply 8-12 times less exposure to the heat cycle dramatically reducing material degradation
- When using this dryer there is no excess material to re bag/decant at material changeover
